VOR Simulator
Master the VOR: set the OBS, watch the CDI deflect, and read TO/FROM as you fly intercepts and tracks around the station. A panel-detail toggle scales from the bare instrument to a heading indicator and on to the full six-pack.

Caution: the behaviour of the instruments and information shown is approximate, for illustration and study only, and may not reflect the exact readings of a real aircraft.
Instructions for use
The VOR tells you which radial you are on relative to the station, and — once you select a course with the OBS — how far off that course you are. It knows nothing about your heading, so the picture is identical no matter which way you point.
Reading the indicator
- OBS / course: the course you have selected sits under the top index. Use the OBS stepper to change it.
- CDI bar: deflects toward the selected course. Centre it and you are on course. Each dot is 5°; full-scale is 10°.
- TO / FROM: shows whether flying the selected course takes you toward or away from the station. Over the station the flag reads NAV (the cone of confusion).
Try this
- Drag the aircraft around the map and watch the radial readout and CDI change.
- Press Centre · FROM to set the OBS to your current radial — the needle centres with a FROM flag. Then Centre · TO sets the reciprocal and centres with TO.
- Set a course, then press Fly and steer with the arrow keys to intercept and track it. Switch to + Six-pack to fly the full instrument scan.
