Aviation 3D Visualiser

A guided 3D flight lab for EASA ATPL study. Explore a wing in a wind tunnel, cut away a high-bypass turbofan, move the flight controls through all three axes, work a VOR radial, fly a 3° ILS approach and compare great-circle and rhumb-line routes on a globe. Every lab pairs a live model with exam-focused readouts, presets and a knowledge check.

Instructions for use

The flight lab is a set of six interactive 3D models. Pick a module on the left, then move the sliders or drag the model. The camera is free: drag to orbit, scroll or pinch to zoom, and right-drag to pan. The Try this presets put each model into a useful exam scenario.

What each lab is for

  • Wing & stall — see how angle of attack, speed and flap change CL, lift, drag and the stall margin.
  • Turbofan cutaway — follow the bypass and core flows, change N1 and watch the hot section respond.
  • Flight controls — move the ailerons, elevator and rudder, and see the load factor and stall-speed penalty in a bank.
  • VOR radial — set the OBS, read the CDI and TO/FROM flag, and fly into the cone of confusion.
  • ILS approach — put the aircraft on and off the localizer and glideslope, and compare the 3D path with the PFD.
  • Great circle — compare the shortest path with a constant-track rhumb line on a globe.

Keyboard

1–6 switch modules · R reset view · F fullscreen · L labels · P pause. Keys are ignored while a slider or the quiz has focus.

Accuracy

The physics is representative of a swept-wing transport aircraft, not a specific type. The VOR, ILS and navigation geometry use the real relationships; the aircraft, engine and instrument graphics are simplified for clarity. Use the lab to build the mental model, then confirm the numbers in your ATPL notes.
