Compact Instrument Simulator

Choose your instruments from the Panel Setting drop-down menu, then start the simulator using the rotating-globe start button — keyboard control only works once the simulator is running and has focus. Click any blank part of the panel to give it focus if your keystrokes stop registering.

Positioning the aircraft

• Drag the aircraft on the map to move it relative to the NAVAID.
• Double-click the aircraft to open a small box and type an exact heading (1–360°).
• Hold Shift and move the cursor near the aircraft to draw a bearing line; click to snap the heading to that direction. Release Shift to hide the line.
• With North Up, nudge heading by hovering near the aircraft until a “−” or “+” appears, then click. With Heading Up, hover near the facility instead.

Setting the knobs & flying

• Knobs (OBS, heading bug, etc.) are set the same way — place the cursor on the knob instead of the aircraft.
• Use the keyboard to fly once the simulator is running; you can still drag the aircraft while it moves.
• Memory saves a snapshot of position and settings in your browser so you can pick up where you left off.

Display orientation

In Heading Up the NAVAID stays centred, so the aircraft appears to rotate around it — but its position relative to the facility is always preserved, exactly as in North Up.
